Ballet Summer School

Ballet Summer School is one of the highlights of the MPSD summer calendar — a full week of immersive ballet training that strikes the perfect balance between structured learning and joyful creativity. Running daily from 9am to 4pm, July 27–31, this program is designed for dancers who are ready to go deeper into their training during the summer break.

With two distinct age groups — 7–10 and 11–14 — the program is carefully structured to challenge every participant at exactly the right level. Whether your child is building on a year of beginner training or looking to strengthen the technical foundation they will carry into the fall semester, Ballet Summer School delivers a week they will not forget.

A Week in the Studio

Each day is thoughtfully programmed to develop technique, artistry, and confidence. Over the course of the week, participants will:

• Work through classical ballet technique with daily barre and centre work
• Explore repertoire and short choreographic sequences
• Develop musicality, artistry, and performance quality
• Train alongside peers at a similar level in a focused, supportive environment
• Finish the week stronger, more confident, and more prepared for the fall

The program is led by MPSD’s experienced ballet faculty, who bring both professional performance backgrounds and a genuine passion for teaching young dancers.

What level does my child need to be?
Ballet Summer School is designed for dancers who have completed at least one year of ballet training. If you are unsure whether your child is ready, contact us and we will help you make the right call.

What should my child bring each day?
A leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. A nutritious packed lunch and snacks for the day. A water bottle. Comfortable clothing for breaks. A full packing list will be sent to registered families.

Is there an end-of-week showing?
Yes. Families are invited to a brief showing on the final day of camp. Details will be confirmed closer to the date.

Can my child register for both age groups?
Participants register for the group that matches their age. If your child is on the border between age groups and you are unsure which is the better fit, contact us before registering.

Are spots limited?
Yes — class sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure quality instruction and individual attention. Early registration is strongly recommended.
