Elisabeth Hartling, MA, NBS – TTP (Dip.), RAD RTS, ADCC – CICB, AISTD Dip., AISTD, BATD: Accomplished Dance Educator and Co-Artistic Director

Elisabeth (Beth) Hartling, a St. John’s native, brings a wealth of international dance education and experience to her role as Co-Artistic Director at Mount Pearl School of Dance.

Educational Background and Certifications

  • Graduate with Distinction, Teacher Training Program, Canada’s National Ballet School
  • Affiliate teacher of The Royal Ballet School (UK)
  • Master of Arts in Education (Dance Teaching), University of Bath
  • Certified instructor: Royal Academy of Dance, Cecchetti Canada, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Modern Theatre, Tap, National), and British Association of Teachers of Dancing
  • Member, International Association for Dance Medicine Science (IADMS)
  • Currently pursuing Irish dance teacher certification (TCRG) with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG)

Pioneering Achievements

Beth’s affiliation with Rising Tide Irish Dance Academy has brought CLRG remote teaching status to MPSD, a first for Newfoundland. This groundbreaking development allows local Irish dancers to compete in feiseanna and complete Irish exams on par with CLRG students worldwide. Beth also brought RAD ballet exams to the province with the inaugural exam session in 2012.

  • Co-creator of “Dance for Life with Parkinson’s” program with Parkinson Society NL
